Every one of us has felt anxious at some point. Whether it is walking home through a poorly lit street or a quiet park, or being approached by unknown people on the street. Abigail Bedson, Regional Overseas Security Manager at the British Embassy, will explain how best to behave in such situations. The Security Talk will focus on women's safety and will cover some high-profile cases from recent years, situational awareness, and crime prevention advice.

Abi was a Police Officer in the UK for almost 22 years and has spent the last four years working for the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office as Security Manager for the British Embassy in Dubai and currently as Regional Overseas Security Manager covering the British Embassies of Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania, North Macedonia and Montenegro.

Book Presentation

March 1st 2024 - IWC Newsletter

27.03.24 at 10:30  | Embassy of the Czech Republik | Bulevar kralja Aleksandra 22

From our President, Barbora Kuchtova:

I would like to invite IWC members and their guests who are interested in contemporary history or interesting things from the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century, to present my book about my ancestors to them. Little by little, writing about a few ancestors, developed into a collection of family history and other family ties. Specifically, I will tell you stories about the first producer of Prague ham, about an important Prague businessman and the owner of the first Prague car dealership, about his journey over 600 kilometres in his car to the Balkans - according to the press at the time he was the first motorist ever to arrive in Podgorica. I am also writing about the first woman in Austria-Hungary to receive a driving license in 1906 as well as, about the founder of the Christian Democratic Party.

Charity Team

March 1st 2024 - IWC Newsletter

The deadline for receiving applications for funding from the IWC has now passed. The Charity Team received a staggering 48 applications - a record of recent years, if not of all time! They now have their work cut out assessing each one so if you see a member of our Charity Team, please give them encouragement in any way you can (and lots of coffee) as their hard work is much appreciated.
